Anyone have experience with the ovilus? We used at Wolfe Manor and it was interesting.

Barry sent me a full list of the words the Ovilius was saying at the Wolfe. He tracked each one and how many times it was said...we're looking into it, but according to the paperwork given to him with the device, half the words it was saying weren't even programmed into it.
I'll let you know what we find out!

Isn't that the point? A device saying words that weren't programmed into it...that's definitely para (NOT) normal! Interesting.

I got the chance to play with one a little this weekend. It really was kind of freaky! The first time I used it, I had just been talking to someone about my kids and the little boy I miscarried and how I still think about him. Turned on the ovilus about 50 ft away from where that conversation took place and it starts saying "good mommy, brother, sister, good mother, sit rest, good mommy" crap!! Then down in the entrance to the cave it was saying "granite, look, nail, (when we stepped about 2 steps further down the walkway, there was a nail sticking out) uncle violent, go, dangerous" and other stuff I can't remember right now. Very VERY interesting!

I've used the Ovilus on the battlefields in Gettysburg and in private investigations with eerily spot-on results. It has 7 different modes: Dictionary, Phonetic, Mixed (Dictionary & Phonetic), EMF, Yes-No Mode, Level Mode and Dowsing Mode. My question to those who have used it and heard words that were not in the dictionary is whether they were using it in either the Phonetic or Mixed mode. In phonetic mode, it uses individual bits of sounds (phonemes) that makes up human speech, which can therefore conceivably recreate any number of words...
It's a very interesting device that relies on readings in the environmental for its operation. I'm still experimenting with it.

Ahhh, I would love to and also correct myself as Barry calls it the Singapore Theory (not the Vietnam Theory)! Sorry bout that.  Barry used it in Episode 1 of Season 2-Larnach Castle in NZ. "Donna and Barry play 1800s music in the ballroom. This is employing the Singapore theory, recreating a situation to trigger some paranormal activity. Then try 1940s music to see if they get different results." "In the ballroom proper, Barry wanted to try out something called the "Singapore Theory". The idea is that if you recreate the spirit's native environment then you may see an increase in activity. In this case, they played some 19th century music. Barry and Donna both reported hearing things — Donna said something about it turning into carnival music (evil carnival music!) towards the end and Barry voiced a similar opinion but unfortunately the audience didn't get to hear whatever it was they were hearing."
